Scribd is better, i prefer "open as a scribd document" than "open as a Zoho document", i found a firefox addon could open the links to word(.doc etc) files directly: Scribd Slurper.
I force intall it into firefox 3.6, but it can only open public doc files, it can't open doc files in gmail attachments.

J2EE/JEE is more lively than ever. Dominique De Vito is right that we see an 'AND' relationship between all the technologies, and the more control over them we can fit in our experience the merrier.

I personally navigate in this sea of technologies, frameworks and integration problems quite comfortably and enjoy this very much. Do you?

Well...Google is just starting to go from a really good search resource that was considered for a while "not evil" to just plain bizzare. I mean, the amount of information they are collecting is getting a bit well...nutty. I mean, a internet consumer has to stop for a second and ask themselves: yes, Google toolbar might be helpful but is it worth the price of Google having a copy of your AIM conservations, documents located on your local computer and who knows how much more information? I say no.

This post is either flamebait or misguided. J2EE has never been more popular. Most developers seem to find a way to make a choice of which framework(s) to use without evaluating every possible combination.

Luke, I didn't noticed your company is based in Canada but the problem resides in the distance between the supplier and the customer.

I agree with you when discussing about smaller companies needing to outsource their IT in order to focus on their business but the problem still remain same: you'll ask to "famous" local companies to manage your data instead of some far away companies.

Maybe could we discuss this kind of business opportunities privately?

Kind regards
Abdelkrim

Thanks for the review. Data privacy means a lot to us too -- we take our customers' data very seriously. First off, we're a Canadian company and therefore we're subject to Canadian privacy laws which are quite stringent (and are recognized by the EU as satisfying European requirements). Second, we want to help as many people as we can: if our secure access model and robust internal security isn't enough, we're open to other solutions like encrypting data. We don't think storing private data on a remote server is that crazy: for a lot of smaller companies without the resources to do it properly, it may even be a safer solution to rely on a trusted provider instead of trying to cook up in-house security. The fact is, a lot of people right now email their spreadsheets and rely on Blackberries and cell phones and none of those things is secure.

Luke Andrews
